Meeting: how to improve the efficiency of transport and logistics chains in the uranium mining sector

On June 12, a meeting on "Optimization of transport and logistics processes in the uranium mining industry" was held in Shieli district, initiated by KAP Logistics. The meeting was attended by Deputy akim of the district Ysmagulov B.A., secretary of the district maslikhat Turabaev M.O., members of the district asset, deputies, public activists and representatives of executive authorities.

The main purpose of the meeting is to inform the public about the plans for the construction of a "Lump sulfur loading and unloading Facility" in Shieli district to optimize the transport logistics of the uranium industry.

Currently, 80% of sulfuric acid in the republic is used by domestic uranium production. However, in accordance with global trends, due to the widespread use of sulfuric acid in hydrometallurgy and fertilizer production, its shortage is expected in the near future. Therefore, it is necessary to increase the capacity of domestic sulfuric acid production. For this purpose, the construction of the Taikonur sulfuric Acid plant with a production capacity of 800 thousand tons per year is planned in the Sozak district of the Turkestan region. It is planned to put into operation an object on the production territory of the Shieli village, which will receive and supply 270 thousand tons of lump sulfur per year as raw materials for this plant. As a result of the implementation of these projects, the independence of the domestic sulfuric acid market from imports will be ensured. And the amount of sulfuric acid transported through the Shieli settlement will decrease by 6 times, as well as its negative impact on the environment will decrease and additional jobs will be created at new jobs for the shipment of sulfur.

The participants of the meeting expressed their opinions and suggestions, expressing their wishes for the implementation of these projects in accordance with the requirements of the legislation and their timely launch.
